Health and Safety

Foods and food products derived from biotechnology crops have been on the market for over 10 years. Agencies have examined the safety of biotech foods and found them to be as safe, if not safer, than foods derived from conventional farming. The safety of GM foods has been studied by agencies around the world including the World Health Organization (WHO), American College of Nutrition and the American Medical Association.

Even a report from the European Commission, whose member states are skeptical of biotech products, concluded "the use of more precise technology and the greater regulatory scrutiny [over biotech foods] probably make them even safer than conventional plants and foods."
