Welcome to the Food For Thought area designed specifically for educators.

Visit Farmer Frank and take his farming challenge! This interactive game provides kids with a better understanding of the effects of human activities and technological innovations on the production of crops in Canada.

Players are given the opportunity to manage a potato or apple crop over the course of a year. They are provided with limited resources and are asked to make decisions based on the season and environmental conditions. They are then able to see how these decisions affect the quality and affordability of the product produced. It’s a fun and hands on way to learn about the choices farmers face every day.

Coming Soon: Look for supplementary curriculum materials for elementary students discussing how food grows. Designed in conjunction with TEACH Magazine, these materials educate kids in a visual way about bugs and their impact – both good and bad – on Canada’s food supply.
