Murray Porteous is a partner in Lingwood Farms Ltd. and grows fruit and asparagus on 850 acres in Norfolk County in Ontario. He is a Director of the Ontario Apple Growers, Vice-Chairman of the Ontario Agricultural Commodity Council, and is a past Chairman of the Agricultural Adaptation Council and the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association.

Murray is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a degree in Agricultural Business.  His experience over the past 20 years include sales and marketing positions as well as involvement in research with livestock, field crops or horticulture.

In 1998, Murray was named Ontario’s Outstanding Young Farmer
