BUILDING GOVERNMENT RELATIONS CAPACITY
CropLife Canada announces new vice president of government affairs

August 16, 2010 –OTTAWA, ON – Dennis Prouse has joined CropLife Canada – the trade association representing the developers, manufacturers and distributors of plant science technologies – as the organization’s new vice president, government affairs.

“Dennis will be a great asset to our organization. Our industry is one that’s highly regulated, and as such, establishing open, two-way communications with government officials about the benefits of our technology is of the utmost importance,” said Lorne Hepworth, president of CropLife Canada.

Dennis is a respected government relations practitioner with more than a decade in the field, most recently as director of government relations at the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Among his list of credentials, he was named one of The Hill Times’ top 100 lobbyists in Ottawa for 2010. He’s a member of the Government Relations Institute of Canada’s board of directors and holds a degree in political science from University of British Columbia.

“The association, our members and industry as a whole stand to benefit a great deal from the work Dennis will do,” Hepworth said.

Dennis will be based out of CropLife Canada’s Ottawa office and can be reached at 613-230-9881 ext 3226 or proused@croplife.ca.
